The OVC Education Fund is dedicated to contributing tuition and scholastic materials for orphans and vulnerable children. Led by RYID-NET with support from the Luena Foundation and Egaaju Family Foundation, and other partners, the OVC Education Fund give OVC a chance of a life time to live productive and dignified lives.
Why do we need an OVC Education Fund?
Vulnerable and Orphan children are those who have lost one or both of their parents, or are living in extremely deprived conditions, and having difficulties in accessing education.
Because lack of education is a tragedy. It is estimated that there are more than 2 million orphans and other vulnerable children (OVC) in Uganda. These children face multifaceted challenges in their lives including poverty, abuse, poor health and lack of food, housing, sanitation, and education.
RYID-NET’S top priority under this initiative is to see that these Orphans and Vulnerable Children (OVCs) get back to school and ensure they stay in school.
We help link these children and their immediate families to available sponsors who support their education through the provision of school fees/tuition and scholastic Materials. In providing solutions to their predicament, we help keep them in school through the education fund.
